Michael Smith is our Head Teaching Professional. He was born and raised in North Carolina and attended UNC-Wilmington prior to serving 4 years in the US Navy. Michael began his golf career in 1992 as an Assistant Golf Professional at Crowfield Golf Club and quickly developed a passion for golf instruction. After four years at Crowfield Golf Club, he accepted a job as an Assistant Golf Professional at Wild Dunes Resort on the Isle of Palms. Michael worked his way up to become the Director of Instruction. In 2002, Michael began working here at the club as an Assistant Golf Professional and quickly moved up to become the Head Teaching Professional. He is a PGA Professional and US Kid Golf certified coach who enjoys continuing his passion for the game of golf through teaching one golfer at a time. When he is not at work, Michael enjoys fishing, paddle surfing, and spending time with his wife Cori and their three sons Max, Jake, and Luke.
